COME AND TRY SATURDAYS - TEMPORARILY CLOSED

We welcome new shooters, group and corporate bookings on our “Come and Try” Saturdays, held fortnightly – bookings are essential.

Saturday bookings cost $125 per person (inclusive of ammunition, gun hire, 25 targets and an instructor). This also includes regulatory paperwork called a p650 which is for insurance and regulatory reasons, it allows unlicensed shooters to come and have a try.

When you proceed to book using the BOOK NOW button, we will charge your credit card with the total cost. 

Rules, Safety & Important Information

Participating shooters: We will split you into squads of up to five people so that you are given the best tuition by our instructors.

Gun Licensing Requirements: All participants must be 12 years of age or older, all participants must meet the NSW Police requirement of being approved through a P650 declaration form (for unlicensed shooters).

Insurance: Public Liability Insurance is provided.

Targets: 25 targets per shooter will be shot at down the line (TRAP) accompanied by SCTC officials.

Equipment supplied: Hearing protection, protective eyewear on loan, ammunition, and use of club firearms.

For personal protection, we advise that a hat & sunscreen.

Prior to the event:

  • Pay the full amount of the booking fee at the time of booking  – using the BOOK NOW button.
  • Confirm participant numbers. If more than 10 participants you will need to book multiple sessions (generally it takes approximately 1 hour per 10 shooters).
  • Complete a P650 declaration form (NSW Police Force Firearms Registry) Click here P650.

Clothing: All participants must wear enclosed shoes (no high heel shoes) and suitable comfortable clothing.

Eye Protection: Sunglasses, protective glasses as well as personal spectacles must be worn.

Photography: Photographs by SCTC of people shooting and group photographs may be taken for advertising purposes.

Weather on the day: The session will go ahead if it is light drizzle, raining, cold or windy. The Club will cancel, postpone or wait and see what the weather does, especially when there is hail, lightning or really heavy rain.

Facilities: The club can provide BBQ facilities for your own use by prior arrangement – BYO. Tea, Coffee and Cold Drinks are available on the day.

Canteen: Open during club member shoots only.

Full payment is required before the event starts, cash, credit card  EFTPOS facilities are available at the club on the day.

NO consumption of alcohol and/or drugs is permitted on the grounds. We reserve the right to refuse participation if we believe you are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Booking Cancellation Policy

Cancellation: If the booking is cancelled within 24 hours of the event then we reserve the right to retain 50% of the total booking fee in order to recover costs. 

Alternatively, bookings can be rescheduled in need but if that rescheduled date is subsequently cancelled  the booking fee will then be fully forfeited. 

Full payment is required at the time of booking.  

What to Bring on the Day

    • Be at SCTC at least 15-20 mins prior to your booking time.
    • P650 form completed and sign (one form per shooter)
    • Suitable ID – Drivers Licence/Passport

Hat, sunscreen and sunglasses

  • Enclosed shoes
  • Download a map of directions to SCTC
  • 12-18yrs need to have their own ID (passport/birth certificate) and are to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
